Tania Ryan - Resource Specialist
My 8th grade teacher here at St. Lawrence Martyr inspired me to become a teacher. She instilled in our class a love of reading and writing and took the time to show us how treating each other with kindness and respect, regardless of our differences was more important than academics.
I love being able to pray with the children, share my Catholic faith, and talk openly about God.
My greatest experience at SLM has been watching my students grow in their faith, build good character and self esteem, and learn to believe in their unique abilities.
I taught 5th and 6th grades at St. Anastasia Catholic School in Playa del Rey before coming to St. Lawrence Martyr in 2009. During my time at St. Anastasia, I completed a Master’s program in Education with a concentration in English Language Arts at Loyola Marymount University. Upon realizing my calling to helping students with learning differences, I received my credential in Special Education. Furthering my vocation, I am now a dyslexia consultant and screener as well as an Irlen Syndrome (Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome) Screener. I love learning, my career, and working at SLM!
I was baptized here at St. Lawrence Martyr as were my two children, Kameron and Breanna.
I am a graduate of St. Lawrence Martyr and Bishop Montgomery High School, as are my two children. I love spending time with God, my family, and my friends. I enjoy baking, walking/jogging with my dog at the beach, most types of music, all types of dancing, good movies, and working out with my daughter.
