Julie Baumgartner - 3rd Grade Teacher

After earning my Bachelor’s Degree in English from Indiana University, I decided to pursue teaching. I was inspired to become a teacher by my mom, and by many dedicated teachers who taught me throughout my years in school. I went on to earn my Master of Arts in Teaching degree at National Louis University in my hometown of Evanston, IL.

My experience as a classroom teacher includes substitute and long-term substitute teaching in all grades from Kindergarten to high school. Here at St. Lawrence, I have been blessed to teach first and third grade. I particularly enjoy teaching third grade students because they are so enthusiastic and eager to learn. St. Lawrence Martyr has been my parish home for many years, so when I had the opportunity to join the school faculty, I felt very fortunate. I believe it is a privilege to bring God and the social justice teachings of the Catholic Church into the many subject areas I teach every day. I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received from SLM staff and faculty, parents, and students.
