Helen Klute - Kindergarten Teacher

I love learning and grew up in a large Catholic family that placed a high value on education.  I graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University with two bachelor’s degrees, one in English Literature, one in Business Administration, worked in marketing for a number of years, and finally discovered a passion for teaching through my volunteer work at a local kindergarten.  In 2002, when I was hired to teach kindergarten at a charter school in South Los Angeles, I knew I had found my vocation, so I re-enrolled at Mount St. Mary’s University and earned a master’s degree in education.

Working with children is a joyful privilege.  The students challenge me, energize me, and make me laugh daily.  I am thrilled to be a part of the St. Lawrence Martyr community – the amazing students, the creative and dedicated staff, and the outstanding families make this a wonderful place for everyone to learn and grow together.
