Erica Egnatuk - Transitional Kindergarten Teacher

St. Lawrence Martyr School and Church has always been my place to belong.  My family joined the parish in 1983, and in 1985, my official Catholic education began.  As I think back, each SLM teacher inspired me in some way to pursue my higher education and become a teacher also.  After completing my bachelor's degree from LMU in 2005, I was offered a position at St. Lawrence Martyr as the First Grade teacher.  In 2010 I completed my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and soon thereafter had the privilege of planning, coordinating, and being the first teacher in SLM’s Developmental Kindergarten.

During these past years, being a part of the SLM education team, almost every day my faith is strengthened when I interact with my students.  Each child brings the face of God more and more into focus for me – reminding me always that teaching, for me, is not just a job, but a call that I have happily and joyfully answered.
